The Carswell OEI Story
Greenwood Products, Inc. began distribution in 1985 with a concentration on aftermarket winter product parts. Selling primarily chain, bars, and accessories Greenwood Products expanded its distribution base quickly by providing excellent service and quality aftermarket parts.
With a growing core of dealers Greenwood Products started adding original equipment manufacturer parts in 1989. With these new OEM lines Greenwood Products continued to develop business on the basis of providing quality opportunities and excellent service to its dealers.
In 1990, Greenwood Products changed its name to Original Equipment Inc and continued to do business and expand throughout the 1990s. Due to its impressive performance and strong dealer base in Arkansas and Oklahoma, Carswell Distributing Company acquired Original Equipment, Inc. in June of 2000.
The combination of the two companies brought on a new stage of development for the company now known as Carswell-OEI. Carswell Distributing Company built its strong distributing presence in the Southeast with its concentration on outdoor power equipment and heating products whole goods sales. In turn, Original Equipment, Inc. began distributing many of these whole good products, including Great Dane and Robin.
Today Carswell-OEI offers an array of Outdoor Power Equipment and Powersports products in addition to its many lines of OEM and aftermarket parts. In spite of its impressive expansion through the past 18 years, the primary reason for Carswell-OEI’s continuing ability to provide a superior level of product knowledge and service to its customers is its people. Carswell-OEI has been fortunate through the years to retain many of its employees and find additional key contributors as it has expanded.
